Taffeta Details
Q&A with Phoebe: Upholstery details
Question: I've read in some of your interviews that you like to use "dressmaker details" in your upholstery. Can you explain what that is?

Phoebe's Answer: Yes. When I submit work orders for upholstery, I try to think of small details that can make the upholstery look more custom and thoughtfully sewn. Some of the things I like are: tiny micro welt, contrast welt, contrast buttons or button tufts, trims of fabric bands on the bottom of skirts, nailhead trims (both on top of tape and not), and color blocked fabrics. Here are some examples to illustrate:.
